The following post is from our kid's craft contributor EJ:
My kids love any game that involves singing and dancing - and since the theme of Camp Mom this week is bugs/insects - thought we'd come up with a game that included the theme and some singing and dancing.
Ready to learn how to be play "The Bee's Knees"?
First, you'll need to print and cut out a small picture of a bee (small enough to be concealed underneath the hand of your youngest child participating).
Start with everyone standing in a circle. Designate one person as "it" - and have them stand in the center of the circle. The person who is it will close their eyes while the rest of the group will pass the bee around the circle and sing just the first verse of "I'm Bringing Home My Baby Bumble Bee".
When the song is ends, everyone places their hands on their knees - and the individual with "the bee" tries to hide the bee (on their knee) under their hands.
The person who is it will now open their eyes and proceed to ask each child one at a time, "Do you have a bee on your knee?". Each child will uncover their knees to reveal what is hiding behind their hands.
When the person who it it finally finds the child who has "the bee's knees" - that child has to dance as it they really do have a "bee on their knee".
This child is now it and you play again (and again, and again, and again).

This week, we had fun reading Into The Great Outdoors, one of the free ebooks available as part of the Memetales 2012 Readathon. We found inspiration for our "buggy" game from the lines in one of the closing pages of the book:
"There are so many places to explore right outside your door. Look around. Listen to the sounds. Smell the air. Sing a song. Dance with friends and family." - Into The Great Outdoors
