Welcome to Week 3 of the 100 Acts of Kindness Challenge! This week we were challenged by Deborah at Teach Preschool to "share a heartprint." Have you gotten started yet?
Today JDaniel4's Mom's is sharing a simple way that we can remember and show kindness to those who are serving in the armed forces.

JDaniel4's Mom is a blog about learning and exploring the world with her four year old son through food, books, crafts, learning experiences and more. I especially love Deirdre's Read-Explore-Learn link up featuring book related posts. You can find JDaniel4's Mom on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google +.
Is there someone in the armed services that you could serve?
Is there someone who serves in your community that you could do something kind for?
My mom works as the activities director at a Senior Center. She and the seniors at her center are participating in the 100 Acts of Kindness challenge this year! My son and I took a little field trip to visit her last week and were excited to see what they are doing to recognize kindness around them each day!
Each table at the center has a kindness jar at the center of it. They can use the hearts inside the jars to write down acts of kindness that they notice happening around them.
Last year they made a heart garland and added a heart to it each time they noticed someone being kind! This year the garland is on display to remind them to look for kindness!
My mom is a great example to me of someone who is always being kind! This past weekend I flew out to visit her as she threw an amazing children's book-themed baby shower for my sister-in-law, who just had her first baby!
There was delicious food, adorable favors, and lots of gifts for the new baby! Although my mom loves throwing parties, so this was fun for her to do... it was also a lot of work! I was so impressed with every little detail that she had thought about for the party. It was evident that she spent a lot of time planning and the result was a very successful and beautiful shower.
Spending time with kind and thoughtful people makes me want to be kinder and more thoughtful too! Whether it is someone in the armed forces who is giving their life to protect us or someone in our family who is simply doing daily kind acts for us... we all could take more time to say thank you and be grateful.
Who could you send a little note and thank today? Who do you know who is always finding ways to serve others and be kind?
If you are just joining us, head to our 100 Acts of Kindness project 2013 landing page to catch up.
Also, I'm excited to be sharing a little coupon with you this week from Method... along with some fun cleaning tips. What a great idea to mark each act of kindness by building a garland of hearts! I love the visual reminder!
I LOVE how they are celebrating kindness at the nursing home! Those jars are so cheery you can't help but smile when you see them.
And that baby shower–whoa!!! Looks amazing!!! Your mom needs a blog too!
