This year's 100 Acts of Kindness project was amazing. I have been so impressed with every single participant and the creative ways that you all showed kindness over the past 4 weeks.
Our Kindness challenge ended yesterday, but that doesn't mean that it is really over. Hopefully that was just the beginning for all of us in deciding to make our lives even more centered on doing acts of kindness for others. Coffee Cups & Crayons is celebrating 2013 with 52 weeks of Random Acts of Kindness... so that's a great place to start if you need more kindness ideas!
Yesterday we celebrated Valentine's Day and Kindness together as a family. I also got to go and volunteer in my son's school classroom.
How did you celebrate?
Here are a few snapshots of our simple kindness celebration...
We didn't do anything hugely fancy, but we had a lot of fun!
First, I was a kind mom and made a special heart day breakfast for the kids.
Then as part of our kindness celebration we made valentines for my husband since he's been in Brazil for the past two weeks on a business trip and was coming home yesterday!
After that, we made chocolate chip cookie hearts for some of our favorite friends and neighbors.
Then we went to school and gave out our special valentines to all our friends.
As part of our celebration at school, the kids got to play BINGO and do face painting. I got to help with face painting for the first time ever... I made my son a rocket on his hand (I think I need some more practice).
Then we frosted and ate cookies.
And then we went home and passed out more valentines and cookies to friends around the neighborhood.
We ended the day with a special family dinner, some treats, and some special gifts from my husband that came all the way from Brazil!
In addition to celebrating kindness yesterday, it was also International Book Giving Day. We were super lucky and were the recipients of some new books from my mom for Valentine's Day.
We also received four special new books from Harper Collins that we are excited to give to one of our fabulous Toddler Approved readers as part of our International Book Giving Day celebration!
