Parenting is exhausting. Sometimes I feel like I've run a marathon by the end of the day... and yet often I haven't really done that much movement at all {unless you count how often I'm moving chocolate into my mouth, right? :)}.
Lately I've been feeling like a slug because I haven't been getting enough sleep or exercise. I seriously believe that you are more tired when you don't exercise... so I need to get moving more!
Over the next 30 days I am issuing a challenge to myself to move and groove more with my kids.
I'd love for you to join in too.
I'm challenging myself to move for at least 30 minutes each day with my kids.
I'll be moving without them too... but that's for a different blog post.
There are loads of fun ways to learn while moving and grooving as well as just being silly and/or creative. I plan to share a lot of ideas with you over the next few weeks. 30 minutes is just the minimum too... I have a feeling we'll be moving a lot more than that... but I'm starting with a goal that I know will be do-able.
So, will you join in too?
Here's how to get started...
1. Leave a comment letting me know that you are joining our Move and Groove with Your Kids Challenge {February 26th-March 27th}.
2. Come back next Monday and log the number of days from this week where you managed to move and groove for at least 30 minutes each day... or more. There will be a Google form for you to use to log your numbers. Subscribe to our posts via email or RSS in the sidebar or join our Toddler Approved Facebook page (if you haven't already), so that you don't miss any of our challenge announcements!
3. Grab a Move and Groove button and stick it on your blog sidebar (if you are a blogger).
4. Post on your blog, Facebook page, or whatever all about how you're planning to move and groove with your kids and share the links here! Or just share your favorite ways to move with your kids in the comments on this post!

I can't wait to get started moving more today!
We have a family jogging club that we'll be sharing with you on Wednesday that I am really excited about!
I am going to take you up on this challenge… we're joining in late though – we'll start Monday, March 4. My favorite moving and grooving is having our in-home dance party around dinner-making time. We crank up the tunes and dance together. With two little boys, it's hard *not* to be active at least 30 minutes each day :). I was happy to put your ad on my sidebar, too. Happy groovin'!
We are in! Here's one of my favorite ways to be active with my little ones:

I wanna join you! We pretend to go for a walk with my son every day.
We just finished up a 31 Days of Gross Motor (moving with your kids) challenge in January! It was so great to get up and moving with my kids. I think my favorite activity was pretending to be melting snowmen. It was quite hilarious!
