Have you read any books by Gail Gibbons?
This month for Virtual Book Club for Kids we are spotlighting her books! One of the main reasons I love hosting Virtual Book Club every month is because it gets me out of my book comfort zone and allows me to explore new things with my kids! I am the sort of person who is content to read the same book over and over and over again... and so are my littles... which isn't bad, but it's nice to try something new too.
Gail Gibbons probably has a book on almost any subject you can think of and she is the leader in publishing nonfiction children's picture books. As a classroom teacher I loved using her books... so I am excited to read some new ones this month!
We chose Ice Cream: The Full Scoop as our book to spotlight this month and it just arrived! I am still trying to decide what we'll be sharing with you... but it will definitely be yummy and fun! 🙂 We are also participating in the LOVE Books Summer Exchange over at The Educators' Spin On It again this year and so I think our LOVE books package will also be featuring Ice Cream: The Full Scoop by Gail Gibbons.
Have you read it? Do you have any favorite ice cream themed crafts or activities?
Will you be participating in Virtual Book Club for Kids this month?
All you have to do is...
- Pick a Gail Gibbons book to read with your child or class (several are shown above in my collage)
- Comment below and let me know that you are participating!!
- Do any activity, craft, cooking project, or other book inspired activity that goes along with the book your chose.
- Share what you did with us starting Monday, June 17th! We will have a linky up for three weeks where you can share any blog posts (if you are a blogger) or you can post what you did at the end of the linky post in the comments or on our Facebook wall.
We always love seeing the variety of ways that children, moms, teachers, and other caregivers and professionals explore and create using books as their inspiration!
Here are a few of the Gail Gibbons books that we are looking forward to reading this month:
Weather Words and What They Mean
Now it is your turn to share! Which Gail Gibbons book do you love the best... OR, which one looks like a fun one to read... OR, which one is based on a topic that your child is currently interested in? I could name several.
