Do you have any exciting plans for Spring Break? Do you need something fun and creative to do this month?
We've got you covered with our {free} Spring Camp! Spring Camp is 5 days of simple activities to help you connect and have fun with your kids!
This is our second annual Spring Camp! Last year we hosted a Bugs & Butterflies themed camp!
This year the Spring Camp theme is Plants and Seeds!
In order to get started with Spring Camp, we need you to get registered! Read below to learn more about camp and how it works! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
What is Spring Camp?
Spring Camp is 5 days of plant and seed themed activities sent right to your inbox!
Our goal is to give you simple and fun ways to create, explore, and learn with your kids!
We also will send you a book list of our favorite themed books to read as you create!
What is included in Spring Camp?
Spring camp is a virtual camp! We provide the digital tools for you to create a wonderful "camp" in your home with your children. All you have to do is download the printable activity plans, get the materials prepped, and start having fun!
Spring Camp includes:
- 5 simple plant and seeds themed printable activity plans
- 1 plant & seeds themed sensory activity plan
- 1 plant and seeds themed pretend play activity plan
- Printable Plant and seed themed songs and fingerplays
- A few bonus plant and seeds themed activities
- A plant and seeds themed book list
- Plant & seed themed field trip ideas
Who can participate in Spring Camp?
The Spring Camp activities were designed for kids age 2-5, but age isn't really a great measurement of abilities since all kids are different. The activities can be modified based on your child. I will be doing the activities with my three youngest kids (ages 3,6, and 8). The activities could be modified for kids younger than 2, but they will need additional parent support.
How much time per day do you recommend to set aside for doing the activities?
It will really depend on your child's attention span. I will probably set aside an hour per day for us to 1) read the book, 2) do an activity, 3) sing some songs, 4) try out the pretend play and/or sensory play activity, and 5) maybe try a bonus activity.
You may find that your child is so engaged that you spend 2 hours! If you set aside time for field trips you may add additional time onto that.
Some camp participants prefer to do all of the activities on one day or a few days during the week while others like to do one activity per day. The plans make it flexible so you can do it however you'd like!
What if I don't have all of the books?
We don't want you to spend a lot of money to participate in camp! Look at the book list and see which books you have in your home or at your local library. Also, see if you can borrow any from your friends. If you are unable to find some of the books, go check them out on YouTube and watch them being read OR purchase them on Amazon. Most of the books we've included on our book list are ones we feel that each home should have. If you have additional plant and seed themed books at your house, feel free to use those if you can't track down the specific books on our list.
How will I get all of the information about camp?
First, you'll want to go sign up for camp below >>
Once you've signed up, you'll receive a welcome email and you should get a Book List not long afterwards. On Friday (March 29th), you'll receive a Printable Ebook with all of the materials lists, activity plans, etc. right to your inbox. If for some reason you don't get it, let us know!
Camp starts on Monday, April 1st, although you are welcome to do it anytime!
Each day next week, starting on Monday, you'll receive an activity in your inbox. While some love getting it all up front, we know others prefer the activities in bite sized pieces (one at a time!)The activities email next week are the activities that are in the ebook, but they are spread out more (one per email).
How much does camp cost?
Our Spring Camp is free!
Each Summer we host our VBC Summer Camp which typically costs a small amount, but we love to provide our spring camp at no cost!
What do you learn at Spring Camp?
Spring Camp follows along with the format we've been sharing all year in our Weekly Virtual Book Club for Kids. It includes an alphabet activity, numbers activity, snack, sensory activity, and a movement activity. During camp you'll work on simple things like building fine and gross motor skills, letter recognition, counting, and color recognition. You'll also get to try out some simple science activities while you explore plants and seeds.
Do you have any more questions about our Spring Camp? Don't be hesitant to ask! Someone else probably has the same question, so we'd love to answer it!
When does registration close?
Camp starts on Monday, April 1st. Once camp is in session, you won't be able to register for free anymore! We will however have our Spring Plants & Seeds Camp pack available in our store.
Don't forget to sign up before Monday!
If you haven't signed up already, make sure to sign up for our free Spring Camp below.
