My little guy was very excited about Autumn and leaves after we did our tree art project this morning.
We spent the rest of the day doing little "leaf hunts" (hiding our fabric leaves around our family room, looking for them and putting them in a big pile, and then throwing them on top of ourselves and pretending that it was Fall inside out house). It was amazing how many times we could do that over and over again without it getting boring for him!
I also created a little leaf puzzle this afternoon.
First I created a page of different leaves and printed off two copies of it. I did six leaves because that it about as many as my son can handle right now.
Next, I drew simple puzzle pieces on one of the pages with a black marker.
Then, I cut out the puzzle. The next step would be to laminate all the pieces (board and puzzle pieces) and then add velcro or some sort of adhesive... but my son was too anxious to get started... so we'll do that later.
Lastly, we put the puzzle together. We talked about the different leaves that were in the puzzle as we put it together- shapes, colors, sizes, etc.
It was a hit!
That is neat. I love this blog. So many things I am going to do with my kiddos! Thanks!
I gave your blog an award on my blog, go see!
