Last year I joined up with The Educators' Spin On It and Rainy Day Mum to bring you a monthly Virtual Book Club for Kids.
The Virtual Book Club for Kids explores fabulous authors and new books each month! Activities are geared towards kids age 1-6.
We are currently wrapping up our summer by featuring books by Donald Crews in August.
Once September arrives we'll be spotlighting the authors listed below for the new school year!
We can't wait!
Not only will we spotlight the authors on our blogs, but we'll also be sending out a monthly Virtual Book Club for Kids newsletter.
In our monthly newsletter we'll share crafts, activities, recipes, and more inspired by the books we've read during the month. All activities shared will connect with one of the following simple learning skills: math, literacy, cooking, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, arts & crafts, and science. Come join in as we help kids connect and have fun with books this year!
If you're interested in joining us for Virtual Book Club for Kids this year, start by...
1. Signing up for our newsletter.
2. Then let us know in the comments section that you'll be joining in.
3. Like us on Facebook and Pinterest so that you can keep up with the ideas we share.
After you've signed up, here's a reminder of what participants get to do each month...
1. Pick your favorite book by that month's author (or a new one you want to check out) and read it with your child or class.
2. Create an activity, project, craft, cooking project, etc. related to the book and do it. You could even find your supplies online right now at Classrooms.
3. Come back and share it with us as part of a big blog hop on the second Monday of the month. The linky will be live for 3 weeks, so if you aren't ready to post on the exact date... just join in when you can! If you don't blog, you can share what you did on our Facebook wall, email us, or just comment on the post.
We'll be be posting reminders at the beginning of each month to help you remember which author we are spotlighting!
If you're joining in, start reserving some books at your library right now!

Love it! Can't wait! Will be reading and joining in with our 2-year-old daughter. 🙂
We had so much fun with Summer Camp that I'll definitely be signing up for this!
This sounds like a fun opportunity to share story time with other families! I've never participated in anything like this before, but I'm excited to try it.
My daughter just turned two, and big brother (7th grade) will be doing online school at home. This will be a grwat thibg to add to keep the little one busy while hw does schoolwork. 🙂
I am so excited to join this year! Thank you for putting this together 😉
Yay! So glad you'll be participating.
I'm excited to join… my son is a little over 2… will this still work for him?
Yep! There are loads of great books by these authors for that age
My kiddos are 8 and 9, but I'd still like to join and include activities for their age group, if that's okay? I don't care what age my kids are, we will always read picture books and love reading books by new authors. Maybe I could host a link-up for kids age 7-10?? Just a thought.
Nicole so glad you'll be participating!! Many of my book related crafts and activity posts can be modified for older kids as well! I plan to always use picture books with my kids too. They are so fabulous and there are many that suit a huge range of ages. Can't wait to see which books you choose to spotlight this year!
