This month I am planning to do a few simple toddler activities with my littlest one every day as part of our own "tot school" at home. My son is two and loves doing activities with me... especially ones that get his body moving! I thought I'd make a regular weekly plan and share it with you to keep myself accountable and invite you to join us if you'd like! (If tot schooling is new to you, head on over to 1+1+1=1 to learn more about it)
This week our tot school activities will be snowman themed. If you missed our snowman crafts and activities post yesterday, you may also want to get some ideas from over there too!
Each week we'll highlight a children's book or two (or four) during tot school. We'll also include several activities, crafts, and snack ideas. Click on the links below for more details on each activity. Many of these ideas come from several of our favorite blogs. You can also check out more winter craft ideas on our winter crafts and activities pinterest board.
Books we're reading...
Snowmen at Night by Caralyn and Mark Buehner
That's Not My Snowman (touch and feel book) by Fiona Watt
The Snowman by Raymond Briggs (if I can find my copy)
Often with my toddler I just use the images in the book as a jumping off point. Sometimes I skip the words entirely and just tell the story how I want using simple language that my toddler understands.
We like to read books again and again, so we'll probably read each of these books every day more than once. I may also add in some other favorite snowman books I find around our house.
