It’s time to put down what you’re doing and have fun doing some hands-on Christmas activities with your toddler this week!
With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, sometimes it is hard to prioritize doing simple and festive activities with your kids! There is so much to do and so little time.
We want to challenge you to be hands-on this holiday season and take a little time each day to play and create with your kids!
RELATED: Some of our favorite connection activities at Christmas are inexpensive. Here are 20 hands-on activities for families to do this time of the year!
How is that actually going to happen?
We have five days of simple hands-on Christmas activities planned for you. All you have to do is click on one of the activities below and try it out. Then come back and try a different one another day.
What does it mean to be “Hands-On”?
First, put down anything you’re holding or distracted by (ie. your phone or the laundry). Put aside 20 minutes to be present with your child.
If you have a tagalong sibling, help them participate too. Spend 20 minutes or so each day for 5 days, trying out some of these simple holiday ideas for toddlers.
Why is it important to be “Hands-on” with your kids?
Kids crave connection and they want time with YOU. You may think that they’d rather play with toys or friends, but at this young ages, your toddler thinks you are pretty much the coolest thing since sliced bread.
You need to eat it up and enjoy it. Even if it’s exhausting.
I have a middle schooler now, and although he doesn’t think I’m totally lame… he’s definitely not the president of my fan club like my toddler is.
These holiday seasons will be flying by soon and you’ll turn into me… counting how many Christmases are left until my oldest goes to college. There are six.
Take time each day (just for FIVE days) and connect with your kids, try one (or two) of our fun hands-on activities… and see how much more awesome it makes your holiday season this year.
I promise it will be awesome.
