This week our tot school activities will be mitten themed. If you missed our snowman themed tot school activities last week you may want to check them out. We had so much fun!
Tot school at our house happens throughout the day. Sometimes it happens when my toddler and I are alone while his big siblings are at preschool and 1st grade. Sometimes tot school happens while my 1st grader is doing his homework and my toddler is antsy and needs something to do!
When we do tot school we typically do a craft or activity, read a book, and have a themed snack. The goal is to have fun and learn a few things as well. Check out what we're up to this week below.
Mitten themed books we're reading:
The Mitten by Jan Brett
Three Little Kittens by Paul Galdone
Mitten Crafts & Activities
Here are some of the activities we are going to try this week! Last week I assigned an activity to each day of the week but we ended up only making it through Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before the week caught up with us and we were exhausted. This next week we'll do our best to try all of them, but we'll see what happens.
Monday- Tissue Paper Mitten Sun catcher
Tuesday- Crayon Resist Mitten Craft (guest post at The Artful parent)
Wednesday- Match the Mittens Game
Thursday- Handprint Mittens from Frogs Snails and Puppy Dog Tails
Friday- Painting with Mittens from Teach Preschool
Mitten themed snacks
Monday- Mitten sandwich from Bent-ology
Tuesday- Painted Mitten Snack from StrongStart
Wednesday- Mitten French toast from Happy Hooligans
Thursday- Bake Mitten Cookies from Baking A Moment
Friday- Mitten Snack Bag (watch for post later this week)
If you do any other mitten themed activities during the week come stop by and tell me about them or leave a link in the comments! I am always looking for new cool winter activities to pin.
See any activities on here that you want to try? You can find all of our favorite ways to craft and play with mittens here.
